Justice For Misty Protest -Williamston, NC

Missy Wright-Williams and her kids at The Hampton Inn in Williamston, NC. The protest was grassroots and not connected to Black lives Matter. The protest occurred July-11–2020, 2:30 PM-5:30 PM, on an open lot not owned by Hilton. Town commissioner Ronelle Rodgers came out to show support.

It was hot and humid, and to stop the protesters from protesting, the Williamston Hilton manager provided snacks. Later in the day, When the protesters didn’t back down. He and his staff took back the all snacks.

The Hotel manager harassed the protesters the whole time until I let him know he was going to publish in an international magazine. The smirk came off his face, and he tried to hide his face.

I enlisted in the army to fight in the war, and they didn’t let me fight. I didn’t get to see the war until I came home from Germany -Voice of Raleigh.

Later the protest moved to downtown, and The Voice of Raleigh taught the kids respect. He asked all the kids what they wanted to be when they were grown-up. He later told them they must work hard, practice, read, and study to become what they want. The protest was peaceful with no violence, looting, rioting, or any alterations. The protester’s main goal was to keep the kids safe.
