Wenner responded: “It is not that they’re inarticulate, although, go have a deep conversation with Grace Slick or Janis Joplin. Please, be my guest. You know, Joni [Mitchell] was not a philosopher of rock’n’roll. She didn’t, in my mind, meet that test,” he told the Times.

His book The Masters features interviews with musicians Bob Dylan, Jerry Garcia, Mick Jagger, John Lennon, Bruce Springsteen, Pete Townshend, and U2’s Bono.

Wenner, was removed from The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame board.

Rolling Stones magazine tried to do damage control and posted Janet Jackson Rolling Stones cover on their Instagram account.

Rolling Stones Magazine has a long history of discrimination toward black artists. They did not want to put Michael Jackson on the cover. Michael Jackson became a music icon, and they had to put him on the magazine cover.
