Sharoyce Antwan is one the hottest emerging artist out! He shocked the world with his hit single Money Hungry. Furthermore, Money Hungry made it to #2 on the Digital Radio Trackers chart. However, He stopped by Inspir3 Radio to give us an exclusive interview.

EARLY LIFE

I was born and raised in Savannah, GA. Google said that we had a population of roughly 250,000 people living there last time I checked.

How was life growing up?
S/o to my mama. She was able to raise four boys on her own. We didn’t always do what we were supposed to do. She made sure that we were well taken care of. We were always well-fed and clothed. The utilities were always on, and we never needed much. I don’t know how she did it by herself.

Did your parents make music or DJ? No, All my older siblings were rapping at one point. I’m the youngest of 4 boys. Free Trapbaby and T-Trouble.

Did you struggles have you dealt with in life? Insecurity was something I battled with for quite some time.

I’ve developed the habit of thinking that I would never be enough due to the constant peer pressure and bullying throughout my middle school and high school years. It took me a while to liberate myself from the ruminations.

LIFE

Name something that most people don’t know about you. I’m a fan of comics, manga, and anime. I also like to read books in my spare time. I draw when I need to make rough ideas for animated covers. I will be all over the place at times.

MUSIC PROCESS

When did you become an artist? I started writing rhymes back when I was 14 years old. That’s an astounding 21 years! I went from self-recording for a few years to booking time in studios around Dayton, Cincinnati, and Savannah. Good times, fam.

Do you write your music? I’ve always written my lyrics. Reciting someone else’s written word wouldn’t sit right with me.

Will you ever get into music production? I attempted to do beats back when I was 16. I don’t have the patience for that shout-out to the producers.

Why is music important? Creating music for me is an engaging form of occupation for me. It is also cathartic in many ways. There are some great artists out there.

INFLUENCE

What artist do you enjoy music? The list is too extensive to list, I’m sort of an amalgamation of all of my influences.

Who is your favorite artist? I Can not quite put my finger on this one. I seldom listen to music nowadays. I will be on these audiobooks.

How do you separate yourself from other artists? I don’t try hard to be something that I’m not. However, I give the listener whatever my heart will allow me to disclose in the music.

Who influences your style?

Who have you worked with? China Monai of Ugly Money Ent, Big Rube of Dungeon Family/Society of Soul, Copywrite of the Weathermen, A-F-R-O (All Flows Reach Out), T-Rell, Honey-B-Sweet, Viper The Rapper from Houston TX, 645AR and a lot of other artists.

Who is your favorite Dj, and why? DJ Renaldo is my favorite. He shows a lot of love. I want to put together a Soca record with him one day.

Who is your favorite music producer? John Qwest is my favorite producer. He’s made me a lot of anthemic songs over the years.

NEW PROJECTS

What is your writing process? I do what I feel like doing.

What artist or producer would you like to work with? I work with anyone willing to work with me. I’m not eager to reach for anyone one at the moment.

How did you come up with the concept for most of your songs?
It’s really no formulaic routine for this one. I sit down and make it happen. I like using the bathroom in a sense.

GET TO KNOW HIM

What can we expect from this project? I can’t predict the future, but I know. I have just been assimilating a cache of music over the past few years. I think I’m ready to share them now.

How many tracks are on the album? I’m not sure as of yet.

Do you have merch?
I’ve been working on merch designs for the past few years. Nothing is officially out yet though

What is your reading now? I read Robert Sapolsky’s A Primate’s Memoir and J Douglas Bremner’s Does Stress Damage The Brain earlier this year. However, I’ve just purchased The Ministry of Truth: An Autobiography of George Orwell on the hardback. I got a shelf full of books in the queue.

Who are your favorite artists? Guess I can continue the list: Ludacris, 50 Cent, Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Trick Daddy, Ice JJ Fish, Earl Sweatshirt, Desiigner, Jean Grae, Rhapsody, Trina, Killa Mike, Clipse, Big Daddy Kane, Jaz O, Lil Boosie, Lil Webbie, Young Thug, and Ty Dolla Sign.

CLOSING

What is your go-to song? Wait For Love by Luther Vandross. Furthermore, I have a tattoo inspired by that song on my arm.

Would you ever consider teaching music? I probably wouldn’t.

What projects have you done? I Have not released anything official as of yet.

How do you Inspire people? This question is a little too tricky to answer.

What other talents do you have? Believe it or not, I can work a nine-to-five and pay medical/vision/dental/child support for all my kids.
